Guild Organization
The leadership of Undying Legacy consists of the following people:
Grand Master: The Guild Master
  • Martin (Rhaldor, Kranmar, Aneia)

Guardian: These are your officers
  • Dooze (Aurica, Tucana, Ilzanic)
  • Sini (Trinny, Nevendra)

Mentor: The Class Leaders
  • Death Knights:
  • Druids:
  • Hunters:
  • Mages: Gevi (Gio)
  • Paladins: Kenny (Lotio)
  • Priests: Kia (Elyne)
  • Rogues: Sini (Trinny)
  • Shamen: Dooze (Tucana)
  • Warlocks: Jeroen (Bellamorte)
  • Warriors: Martin (Kranmar)

Whenever anyone part of the guild organization gives you advice on guild issues, you are to listen closely and make sure to follow up on it. During our raids, when one of the leaders tells you to do something, you do it.

Other ranks
Raider: Core raiding group members, attend at least three raids per week.
Kinsman: Casual members that have been part of UL for more than four months
Journeyman: Casual members that have passed the trial period, but have been part of UL for less than four months
Ally: Our alt rank. All alt characters will only gain the "Ally" rank.
Apprentice: The trial period rank.

Voice communication:
We have our own Ventrilo server that is used during raiding and for just general chit chat, obligatory login during raids but feel free to use it at other times as well.
server info:

  • IP Address: voice403.inx-gaming.co.uk
  • port: 6260

Use any nickname you like as long as you're recognizable for your other guildies. Ask the password from one of the officers. Usage of the Ventrilo server is only for Undying Legacy members, don't invite people from outside the guild on the Ventrilo server. The password can be acquired from a CL/officer.

RP isn’t mandatory in UL though some people like to RP on occasion. However, our members are to follow the server rules. So keep off-topic general chat to the whisper, party, raid, guild, and general channels. Do not use the say, yell, emote, or trade channels for non-RP stuff. If you are caught doing so, it will be reprimanded.

We highly encourage communication between members and (class) leaders. If you have a concern about anything, please contact your class leader or one of the officers, we like to know what you think and value your opinion. However, do not take your arguments into the Guild chat channel, if you have issues with someone this will be dealt with privately, sharing this with the rest of the guild is not appreciated.

What we expect from members of Undying Legacy

Courtesy
Even though the majority of the current members of Undying Legacy know each other quite well, for some of the newer members and fresh recruits we are still strangers. In Undying Legacy we use voice communication software on a daily basis and know each other by our given names. If you are online when a new member joins the guild, please take a few seconds to introduce yourself to the new member. If you’re not online at that time, then introduce yourself when you see the new recruit in the roster when you login.
The courtesy also extends into situations where you don't agree with the actions of (an)other guild member(s). We do not want to see people telling each other off in chat channels (raid, party or guild chat). Contact one of your officers in a tell in these cases and we will deal with the situation, don't take matters into your own hands.

In the case where you no longer feel that the guild matches your playing style, and you think that you may be better off in another guild (we hope not), then please inform us when you write an application to a new guild. We would like to hear your point of view. Filing an application to another guild does not mean you will be kicked out of the guild immediately IF you tell us about it beforehand and the reasons for it. However, if we find out about an application from someone else, we consider this a breach of trust and will proceed with removing your character(s) from the guild.

Give and Take
The general consensus in Undying Legacy is that we try to help each other out while leveling up or to improve the characters. This does NOT mean that you are expected to offer anything you find up for other people. If you want to sell that great blue/purple item you just found for lots of money on AH, feel free to do so. Just keep in mind that only taking items from other people without giving anything in return will be noticed over time and is probably not a smart way to handle yourself. This also applies for quest time, if you always want people to help you finish quests, but don’t help anyone else in return it will set bad blood, which we want to avoid. There are no hard rules here, just use common sense and it’ll be fine.

Patience
Please try to have a bit of patience when it comes to setting up groups for instances and while running them. There are some things that are more annoying than people shouting “go go go” in an instance, but I can’t think of many. On the other hand, if you have to go afk, please give a reasonable indication for how long you’ll be gone, letting other people wait for long periods while they don’t know when you’ll be back isn’t polite. In instances, follow the leader’s orders, and have patience during explanations, they save time in the long run.

Breaking the law
The rules we have in the guild do not cover all situations, they probably never will. Therefore we use our common sense to deal with most situations. However, we can’t please everyone all the time and sometimes people get upset about certain things that happened, the way a rule is being applied, or with other people. Here I ask everyone to try and keep their cool as much as possible; lashing out at other people when you are upset doesn’t solve a thing. Bring your gripes to one of the officers and we will deal with it. We will not always turn a situation into your favor, but we will have an impartial look at it and we will inform you about our decisions and why they were made that way.

Situations during raids should be handled through whispers or after the raid ends. In those cases where you are unhappy about the way another person (or people) behaves, we will speak with both parties and try to come to a mutual understanding. We’re not asking you to be close friends with every single person in the guild, but we do ask you to respect one another. Misbehavior, which includes snide remarks and offensive language, is not tolerated in our guild. If we have a clear-cut offender he/she will get either an official warning, or in more serious situations, we will unfortunately have to remove that person from the guild.

The trial period
For applicants that are joining UL we have a trial period that lasts two to four weeks, depending on both raid attendance and performance. During this period the new member is monitored closely for attendance, behavior and in-game conduct. The trial is there for you to prove to us that you're what we are looking for, and it is entirely at our discretion to terminate that trial period for any breach or violation of our policies, trust or patience. During the trial period, your looting rights are reduced to epic items that are not of interest to full members, and your EP rise at one third the speed of full members.

Main Character and alts
As a rule of thumb we allow you to have five alts enlisted in the guild, and if you prefer to play your alt for a while over your main character then that is fine as well (unless you are a core raider). To fight the cluttering of the roster with un-played alts, we remove an alt if it has not been logged in for more than one month. Furthermore, if you have not logged in for more than two months, we will assume that you stopped playing altogether. This will result in all your characters being removed from the guild roster (unless we were notified up front of your disappearance). If, at a later stage, you start playing either your main or alt characters again and want to rejoin UL, contact one of the officers and this will be considered.
If you spent considerable play time on an alt, have your alt enlisted into our guild roster, do not have this alt enlisted in another guild. We can understand that you may have friends in this other guild, but we feel that spending a lot of time in another guild is not a good sign of commitment from your part. Being in two different guilds with separate characters results in conflicts of interest of the guilds, which we are not interested in.

Looting

During instances
The default Need or Greed system is generally maintained on the average instance run.

During your trial period
For your trial period you have reduced looting rights. During this time period, new recruits can only ask for an epic item if no guild members are interested in it. Also, you will receive one third (33%) of the amount of EP assigned after a raid.

During raids
In raids we will work with a master looter that collects all rare and epic drops during the run. Keep (raid) chat clear during loot distribution and express your interest clearly by typing this in the raid chat channel.

Rare (blue) or epic (purple) BoE items will be deposited in the guild vault, see the vault rules for details.

During non-progression raids we have a very basic set of guidelines
1. Class specific items go to their classes
2. Main spec gets preference over off spec.
3. No loot whoring

In all our progression raids, loot is distributed according to the EPGP system. Check out the details here.

Considering profession specific designs
Non-BoE patterns will go into the guild vault. BoP patterns will be rolled for by those with the respective (maxed) professions. Core-raiders will have preference over casual players.

Class Leaders

Becoming a classleader (Mentor) is not a position you can apply for. Instead, a potential classleader will receive a request to step up and take some of our responsibilities. The choice of who we ask to become a classleader is based on several attributes: availability, activity, knowledge of their class, willingness to keep track of players of class x, PR, leadership, and inclination to help others.
Classleaders are grouped directly beneath the officers in the chain of command, and therefore they gain the authority to guide the members of their class (listen and act when they ask you to do something!). This authority comes with extra duties compared to normal members.

Classleader Duties and Gains
  • Classleaders advise on when recruitment of their respective classes should be stopped or encouraged.
  • Classleaders advise on penalties/gkicks concerning members of their class.
  • Classleaders manage and monitor the number of people of their responsible class in the guild.
  • Classleaders advise priorities when it comes to giving raidspots away.
  • Classleaders monitor behavior and performance of members of their responsible class both in and out of raids. This is meant in a constructive way, in order to progress we need to help people to learn to play their classes better.
  • Classleaders train and are able to advise new players who are in need.
  • Classleaders organise the according class channels in game.
  • Classleaders will have a say in recruiting Trialmembers of their class.
  • Classleaders will have a say in approving Trialmembers of their class.
  • Nursing their class, taking care of problems.
  • Running the class threads on the forum (builds discussions etc.).
  • Relaying jobs and requests from the officers (res gear, special tasks).
  • Secondary Raidleading.
  • To support and help their class members to the best of their ability. Anyone having questions or issues related to their class is encouraged to first approach their class's leader.
  • Classleaders are expected to be able to come to most organised bigger raids.

Current Class Leaders:
Death Knights:
Druids: Jan
Hunters: Jamie
Mages: Gio
Paladins: Kenny
Priests: Kia
Rogues: Sini
Shamen: Dooze
Warlocks: Jeroen
Warriors: Martin

Open positions will be filled when suitable candidates are found.

Progression Raids

Our progression raids have two levels of attendance, Core raiders and Casuals. The core raiders consist of those people whose main interest is raiding and seeing progression in the end game instances – they have the Raider rank (or higher) in the guild. Casual members would like to raid on occasion, but don’t want to commit themselves fully to it – they have Kinsman or Journeyman ranks.

When progression raids are formed from the signups on the phpRaider, core raiders will be our first choice, casual raiders will be chosen if no core raiders are available, or if special conditions apply. Core raiders also get the bonus of being able to buy cheap enchanting mats, BoE epics, and other consumables from the guild vault – These are not available for Casual members.

The Core-bonuses come with responsibility. As a core raider, you are expected to set your status on the phpRaider for every listed raid. You should be available for three raids every week (vacation periods excluded), always have plenty of consumables ready, have the gold for your repair bills, and be prepared for the raids by reading up on the tactics. You’re also to be present during the whole time a raid is scheduled for, which means 20:00-23:00 server time and follow the raiding rules by the letter.

These rules are enforced with a penalty system - failing once, and you get a penalty mark. If you fail a second time within two weeks after gaining a penalty mark, you lose the Core raider status. After two weeks of good conduct a penalty mark is removed. The loss of the core raider rank is for at least one full month, after which you can apply to regain the core raider rank. Losing the rank for a second time will mean you cannot regain it. Exceptions will be periods of vacation, illness, or other good reasons (we’re not unreasonable people). Losing your Core Raider status goes together with a 50% EP hit.

Also, if you have to sit out a raid as a core raider but you are available as a standby replacement, then for each hour that you are online you will receive 5% EP of the raid’s final EP. So for three hours of standby you can earn 15% EP of the raid. As a standby you’re free to do what you like as long as you are ready to replace if the need arises. Every core raider can write down his standby EP claims in the designated forum thread (this will be your own responsibility). Standby EP will added to your total at the end of a raiding week (when the instance resets).
