Disclaimer: The following set of rules and guidelines are for the 25-man raids listed on the phpRaider. They can be subject to change in case we see something that needs to be improved upon, so keep coming back often to check them out.
Our aim is to have many of our raids focused on harder content. These progressions raids mean entering unexplored territory in sub-optimal gear. The fights are more difficult and you can expect wipes. The hard part of these raids is to keep morale high and the number of wipes low. So, progression raids are subject to a stricter discipline, both in preparation for the raids and during the raids themselves.
From EVERY raider (both casual and core raiders) we expect the following dedication if you want to join on our progression raids:
You spend plenty of time on your raiding character, to be geared for the dungeon difficulty and have that gear properly enchanted/socketed/glyphed. Sort out newly obtained items within a week.
You have trained all your available spells and abilities at the trainers and maxed out important skills. This includes first aid, even for those who can heal themselves with spells!
When you signed as available for a raid, you are ONLINEand on your raiding character from invite time to start time!
You read up/watch videos of the tactics for boss encounters yourself, during raids only brief explanations will be given.
You always bring plenty of consumables (elixirs, flasks, buff food)
You make sure your talent points are distributed reasonably; don’t come in a pvp spec. If you aren't sure of your spec, ask other guild members and do a bit of research on sites such as Elitist Jerks.
You log in on time for a raid and be on the right character, preferably at the raid entrance. Invite time means that we want you online to be invited into the raid. At start time we want to be buffed up and pull. If you are confirmed but not online at 5 minutes before start time we will replace you with someone on the standby list.
You do not go AFK unless a break has been announced of if you have been given permission. "brb getting a drink" in between wipes slows us down, don't do it.
If you die on trash and there is a good chance of running back and participating in the remainder of the fight then you corpse run. Don't lie around dead staring at your screen or start chatting in guild chat. If you’re uncertain whether to run or not, ask in raid chat or on Ventrilo.
After a full wipe, everybody corpse runs, you might get a res if one of the healers is up and about, but don't expect one.
- Sign up through the raiding calendarAT LEAST A DAY UP FRONT. If you are signed up, then do not sign out on the day of the raid unless you have a really pressing matter to attend to. If this does happen, then make sure to contact your class leader or an officer about it and tell them your reason. Signups made within three hours of the start of a raid will be ignored unless there is no one else available.
Penalties - these are guidelines for the raid leaders, exceptional circumstances may void them:
No show for a raid while being signed up and accepted: -5000 EP, you will also "banned" for one raid of our choice - a raid where we have enough signups that you would like to attend will simply not be available to you.
No show for a raid while on the Standby List: -2500 EP
Too late for a raid while signed up and accepted: -500 EP
Not repaired: -500 EP
No consumables: -500 EP
AFK for more than 5 minutes when no break has been announced: - 500 EP and replaced by someone else if available.
Leaving a raid early without a notification up front: no EP for that raid
Signing off as unavailable within three hours before the raid while having been available beforehand without a good reason: -1000 EP
Not signing yourself as available/unavailable for a 25-man raid listed on the phpRaider while having an active account there: -1000 EP
getting yourself saved for a 25-man raid of the EPGP system that UL has not yet done that particular week: EP-hit of the size that the raid would return for attending (with a max of 5000)
The difference between 10-man and 25-man raids With WotLK we now have a set of raids to choose from, all raids can be done in 10-man and 25-man setups. Our main raiding focus lies on the 25-man raids, which means that in general, raids on the phpRaider for Sunday to Thursday will be aimed at 25-man content. This includes all currently available 25-man raids aimed at lvl 80s, so also the PvP boss Archavon. All 25-man raids will be run under the EPGP looting system, meaning that you will receive EP for attending a boss kill, and get credited GP for the loot that drops. Exceptions here are the PvP items from Archavon, and the bags from Sartharion. All 10-man raids are excluded from the EPGP system, loot is distributed according to dice rolls, and once you have had two items, you automatically start passing on gear unless no one else is interested.
Pugging 25-man raids is not acceptable unless you never raid with us anyway (in that case, start asking yourself why you're in UL). Getting yourself saved for a 25-man, especially early in the week, means that we can't use you in our raids. For a core raider, this is a penalty offense, for a casual, it means we will most likely not take you along on raids for a while at all. Keep this in mind before you pug a 25-man raid.
